SUNDAY SOCIAL

Yay! Sunday Social questions. This is beginning to be one of my favorite linkies! I love answering these questions! They're so thought provoking, and really make me think back in the day! You know, cause my day was *way* back there... lmao.

1. What was your first car?
First car that I owned or drove? Well, I'll answer both.
My mom had this shit brown colored 88 Plymouth Horizon that I had the privilege to drive once she got something... else. lol. See photo below, but imagine two different shades of poo brown. For real.

Let me tell you, I would drive the wheels off this damn car! It had this really cool (not) high speed wobble going on, once you reached like 60mph... That was fun. And, when it rained, the floor had about an inch of standing water in it. The car stunk. It was seriously shit. But that engine just kept going and going. It kept getting me from point A to point B. That was the only thing that mattered when you're freaking 15/16 and living 20-30 minutes from any sort of civilization.

This car, guys. Imagine this one... My mom was getting ready to drive down to my dad's house one day (divorced, I was at my dad's for the weekend) to pick me up, and she COULDN'T OPEN THE DOORS! None of them! She ended up having to crawl in through the hatch back... Then, when she got to my dad's house, my grandpa was the badass to save the day and jimmy-rig some hanger door latches! Woo hoo!

My mom was stopped by a police officer one time in this car, with this hanger hook sticking out of the window seal... She was like "What is that??" My mom was like "IT'S MY DOOR HANDLE! Hello!". hahaha

Once the 'Mouth died, I was lucky enough to have my grandparents give me this baby:

Let me tell you, this '92 Chevy S10 matched me in High School PERFECTLY!. For real. I loved it. I had all kinds of bad ass stickers on it (not those lame flames though, this isn't actually the photo of my pickup). *le sigh* I miss that guy. And the 4WD was a life saver, the winter of '08 in Oregon, when there was like 3ft of snow throughout the whole damn state. I was still rollin' around like the bad ass that I was. Bad. Ass.

2. Who was your favorite childhood teacher?
Honestly, I don't really remember much before high school. So I will talk about my favorite high school teacher. Mr. Spindor. He was AWESOME, funny, and totally dorky! He was my geometry teacher, and I learned a LOT from him and developed a love for Math. I was so excited when he transfered to the community college not too far away, and I totally went there for my Associates. He was also a fantastic college professor. Actually cared for the students and helped them whenever possible. It was great. I still look up to that guy.

When I walked across the graduation platform, I totally surprise hugged the poor guy. Talk about embarrassing, right?

3. Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities?
When I was little little, I did TBall, I don't remember much of it. But I liked it.
Also, anything art related. I am not sure if it was in elementary school or not, but, I remember that they had these really fun after school classes, and I did pottery in one (just hands, no wheel working) and I made an awesome mug for my grandpa, which he still has! Crazy.

In middle school, of course, still, anything art related. I was always taking art classes for my electives. And then, I joined a 14u soft ball team. I think I was way too competitive for this age group, because... I got SO pissed when team mates didn't play well. I am a jerk.

High school rolled around and there was no way I was getting up at 4am to get to school by 5am to do softball practice. So I gave up on sports for some time during high school. I was still taking art classes, and I got involved with Art Club. That was fun. Then, Junior year I joined the cheer team. Yup. I did. I stayed on only for the football season, and then quit. Man those girls were BITCHES.

I stuck with the art thing as extra curricular. But, I wish I would have gone into it full time, especially in college. I got blind sided by math and all that. Now, that I am not going to school, and refuse to pay exuberant amounts of money for college, I wish that I did art. Not Math.

4. What was your favorite birthday party?
I don't remember actually having many "real" birthday parties. For those of you who have been following me for a while now... You know that my birthday is on Christmas Eve. The day where all friends (especially when you're young) can't really get out and hang out with you... because they're all spending the holidays with their families. Which is fine. It just sucked for me.

There were a couple of times that my mom and I tried to have a birthday party before or after Christmas break. One time I had a sleep over, I don't remember much of it. Another time I had my birthday at Bullwinkles (sp?) in Wilsonville, Oregon... And my little boyfriend at the time gave me a stuffed Winnie the Pooh bear.

I would have to say one of my favorite birthdays was in 2009 (I was turning 22). My friends and I went to Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon, at like 10pm so that we could still be there when it was the 24th! It was pretty rad. Really drunken fun. haha. I don't remember a whole lot though. ;)

5. Who was your teen celebrity crush?
Teen... Hmmmm. Was Channing Tatum in movies then? Well, if so, he was it. He is still it. *drool*

6. What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch?
I never had that kind of parental suffocation. I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. They let me watch whatever. I remember watching super scary things growing up, like HellRaiser with my dad. Yeah... Probably why I like scary shit to this day!

I'd love to read your answers to these questions! Head on over to Ashley Lately and check it out!

  4. Love, love, LOVE that Horizon! My parents had a gold one before I was born, and they gave me an '86 Chrysler LeBaron (gold and brown... two-tone!) when I got my driver's license. I LOVED that thing! Highspeed rattle and all!
