1985...

1985...
A year that I... wasn't even a blip on my Mom and Dad's radar... Honestly, I don't even thing THEY were blips on EACH OTHER'S radars. That's how NOT alive I was yet. I am not 100% sure how to go about this prompt, but here is some 1985 facts:

Random fact: Bowling for Soup made a song titled 1985. It's pretty awesome. Not to be confused with MADE in 1985, because it wasn't.

Popular people: Amanda SeyfriedKeira KnightleyAshley TisdaleClark Duke, and Scott Michael Foster were all born in 1985. On the other hand Margaret Hamilton and Ricky Nelson died (among many others). Rock Hudson was the first major star to die of AIDs.

Back to the Future, Rocky IV, and Rambo: First Blood pt. II were popular films of the year.

Popular musicians were Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, Duran Duran and Phil Collins. Record of the year was "What's love got to do with it" by Tina Turner.

Ronald Reagan takes oath for 2nd term of being the 40th president of the United States of America.

Stories of Me
Now that I am bored of doing random research of 1985... My mom, she was 18 in 1985. Should have been her graduation year. She was attending high school in Salem, Oregon and probably partying like a mad woman.

My dad on the other hand was 23, and who knows what was going on in his life?? Lots of working in the woods, I imagine. Getting lotsa girls, he was a good looking guy. Even though he probably had already started loosing hair on the top of his head...

My husband was 5 years old during 1985 and he was probably living somewhere in Colorado, doing his little boy thing. I bet he was jumping off 3 story buildings with his bike and giving his poor mother a damn heart attack. -- He says this is the reason he doesn't want kids... LOL.

Were you alive in 1985?

  2. Wow, I didn't realize Amanda Seyfried and Ashley Tisdale were that old. I always pictured them as being even younger than me. Haha.

  4. Ha, ha, in 1985 I was re-born!
I met this hot chick who was a member of a religious group (I won't mention any names)so, I converted, quit college and laid around all day smoking stuff, fooled around and read the bible. Just basically lived off love. That lasted all of 8 months. I got bored and went back home. Then it was back to the books and I graduated 23rd in my class the next year. I always reflect on it as "finding myself" but truth be known, I was just screwing off and really didn't care. so unlike me today. Today, I have no regrets:)
