Honestly, I did a shit amount of drawing over the last week. AND I even finally got some new books from the library. Haven't. even. opened. them.
Because I suck.
Ah well.
So these first ones I gave myself a challenge to try and do some gestures with minimal lines. Trying to really capture the movement, and become more "confident" in my lines.
Lately, I have been really wanting to try to draw some woodlandy creatures, deer to be exact. They're really weird shaped... Have you ever tried to sketch out a deer?? I was looking on google for reference... and well, they need some new deer photos. Just saying.
I saw a special on tv explaining the art process of Bambi and they actually brought real deer in and sketched pages just like this
ReplyDeleteYou are one talented young lady! Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteYour deers are wonderful! Delicate, alert and very deer like in every way! :)
ReplyDeleteYour sketchbook exercises are wonderful!!! I am impressed of how perfectly you met the characters!
ReplyDeleteI like the delicacy of your line work. Your deer are precious. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAwesome sketches! I love how the line moves freely. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your deer sketches. Sometimes I bypass all the fun development of creating art, and just start painting. I need to get my pencils out and sketch more!

i find your loose sketches to be wonderful and joy to see. deer wander through my yard often... living in the forest is like that. fun to see your deer as well!

ReplyDeleteYour sketches are wonderful! You're very talented xx
ReplyDeleteI have pages and pages like this in my sketchbooks... well not of deer... and I did try to draw a cow the other day and it ended up looking like it had a dog's head... which was all sorts of wrong, so I am steering clear of animals from now on... But back to the pages... I think this is a huge amount... that is 90 little suckers right there... what is a week of lots of drawing... I am kind of scared by the thought...xx
ReplyDeleteI love your sketches...isn't pencil amazing. Tonight I got as fara s sharpening one and then did nothing! Your minimal lines are great and really do help with drawing....I teach all my students that way and I see how it builds their confidence and their drawing skills.....very lovely!
ReplyDeleteImpressive and inspirational!!
ReplyDeleteGood job!
