I haven't been as busy with painting this week, as I have in the last couple weeks. But I still would say that it was a pretty productive week, art wise! :)
Attempted painting my own still life. Lol. Grapes are harder to paint than originally anticipated... haha. Strawberries went okay... But couldn't really figure out how to get the depth into the plate. Ah well. Practice, yah?
Got my Moleskine! So happy! I think it's going to be the perfect size for some outside studies! :)
The first thing I did in my Moleskine. Label it! Hahaha.
My first "real" entry into my Art Journal. Husband bought me my favorite German chocolate bar. :) Yummo.
Decided that since I have seen a lot of watercolorist paint their palettes, I thought it would be a good idea. I can see that it would be helpful to gauge the colors. :)
Been dreaming about Oxfords for a while now. I feel like they would be the best accessory to get me out of my clothing 'comfort' zone. I usually just wear my converse, jeans, and a tee... But I want to get out of JUST that. I want to wear other things, I am just afraid of people judging or making fun of me. I want to wear skinny jeans, but am too afraid to try them on. I am planning on going out of my comfort zone today, and finding some Oxfords and a pair of skinny jeans. That's the plan, Stan.
I also am working on something else, but it is a present for my friend, for her Wedding. So, you will have to wait until next weekend.
Also, today, I am going to try to find some Microns at the mall/downtown, if they don't have them around here, I will travel into Nürnberg (45 mins away) to the craft store that I have heard of (Idee) hopefully they'd have them there. If not, I will be ordering them off Amazon. lol.
I am still contemplating opening my own Etsy shop, but I need to find a local printing place I think. I don't just want to sell originals, you know? Also, I will need to get my "Home based business license" from the Army (well, our Garrison) so that I can "operate" a business out of my home. The Army has some crazy rules. I was thinking about using a print agency online, but, I wouldn't be able to take the best photos for that process, and I wouldn't be able to mail it to my APO address, I would have to mail it to my German address, which could cost more in shipping, so that's why I want to find someplace locally.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my art today! I appreciate your visit!
Have you worked on your artistic hobby lately?? Link up with the fun linkies below! :)
I love your new blog header! :)
ReplyDeleteI really wish I had any kind of artistic bone in my body but sadly I don't. Love these. :)
ReplyDeleteOxfords sound perfect for Spring! I'm always so impressed with your lettering. I blame my leftiness, but I find lettering to be really hard.
ReplyDeleteWonderful journal pages and the strawberries say Spring.... I hope you jump out of your comfort zone...life is way too short to worry about what others thing....do and wear what you love with verve!! Be brave....you won't regret it!

Productive week love it all! Plates are a headache, darker shadows might firm it up. I've added passionfruit under friends and sponsors thanks to inspiration from your blog be the first to grab a free spot no need to stress a spot for mine since we always link up in SMWYG.
ReplyDeleteWell this all sounds very promising (business an all) and I love your work in the new journal. I am also a tee converse & jeans person. But I have a pair of skinnies(only one pair) so I can put wellies on top and wear a big chunky jumper (made by me) so go for it and have fun xx
ReplyDeleteInteresting subjects and lovely paintings :-) Have just started water colour blog myself. All comments welcome... http://ianingliswatercolours.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteThanks! I will have to check it out!
DeleteLoving the artwork...plates are a pain. Have moleskin watercolour pad envey... :). Have you looked at Moo.com for printing cards. The quality is really good and their prices are reasonable. Know what you mean about comfort zone clothes. If you feel great in something then who cares what anyone else thinks. I've gone back to google+ , please let me know if I'm non-reply again. Hopefully I've fixed the problem. Have a good weekend. :)
ReplyDeletewhat really wonderful watercolor sketches, and your writing/ letering is fab!! Do go for the plan Stan-clothing and business wise. You won't regret it!
ReplyDeleteOh, do I envy your watercolor skilz! Love the pallet, even before the colors were added. And the lettering of your label is marvelous. Painstaking work to get the edges so clean. And the still life is very fresh and not overworked. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you! No need to envy though! I am sure you could do it too! :) Practice, practice, practice! :) Thank you for stopping by! :) Have a wonderful day!
