GETTING OUTSIDE: WEATHER

Lately, I have really been thinking that I need to be outside more. I know that I feel more whole when I am outside in nature. That's why when it starts warming up, I plan on going outside to do some real life watercolors. I think it will be pretty amazing.

However, there are so many things that just STOP me from even wanting to step outside my front door.

Rain.
Wind.
Snow.
Cold.

All those things, and they happen so very often here in Germany... There is a short time frame here for warm weather. I am sure many of you deal with the same thing. So how do you combat it? The Finnish say that there is no bad weather, only bad clothing.

Now, maybe that's my own fault, for having "bad clothing". I think I am in perpetual denial by not owning many long sleeve shirts, rain coats, rain boots, heavy coats, or real winter gear...

What do you do to get yourself out of the house and into nature even if the weather is less than desirable?

  1. For me Adrienne, It's GEOCACHING! Surprised?
I know you have done it, millions have and if anyone is wondering what it is, check out www.geocaching.com. It's a blend of hiking, exploring and treasure hunting. Sounds like fun, right? It is fun, and depending on the difficulty level you choose, it can be downright crazy! I've done it in well below freezing temps, rain, snow, wind and even at night but nothing beats a nice spring day's hike into the mountains to find a treasure that is often the location it's hidden, more than the actual cache.
Have fun, live it up, get outside and play!

  2. I don`t! I stay inside!
Though, Vegas doesn`t have much nature. Or weather, for that matter.

If you want to be motivated to go outside, maybe think about things you can -only- do during winter! Like make snowmen, or painting snowy trees. At the very least, it gives you an excuse to buy some cute boots or coats! Haha.

  3. Brr, sounds cold! I think I'd be inclined to stay in, but definitely I think the right clothing would help. Love the blue in your text art!

    1. Thanks Lisa! :) The clothes would be a good idea. LOL. If they weren't so expensive!

So you... go buy a sweater. And I'll go buy a pair of shorts. ;)

  8. It is all about the warm clothes...a good jacket and you really don't feel it.

  9. Love it! Personally I do love a rainy day. But not so fond of snow.
